Hello,
My mother has recently been diagnosed with Small Cell Cancer they believe started in the lungs however has spread to many other parts of the body including the spine. My entire family is so positive about this diagnosis however I find myself googling all the time and am finding it hard to find any positives.
I think I'm finding it difficult because the results of tests have varied so much day to day it's hard to understand or believe anything that's being said, and I always here the news passed on and never from the horse's mouth.
From what I have found online (I know this is a bad thing to do but I just want to know) once the cancer has spread the survival rates are low, she has had radiotherapy and is starting chemo now, what are others' experiences with this diagnosis, I just want to know what to expect, it's hard to put on a brave face every day, especially when I'm around family, it feels like I know something they don't, when what I've read may not be significant at all.
Thank you for everyone's advice.
