New diagnosis

Hi everyone 

I'm Laura and I've just turned 29 and yesterday I was diagnosed with kidney cancer.

I'm currently waiting for a CT scan of my chest to be followed by a partial nephrectomy to remove the tumour and I am really struggling to stop crying or cope at all. 
I already have generalised anxiety disorder and so I am worrying about absolutely everything, especially because I have different aches and pains in my body which I am worried means the cancer has spread. I know only time will tell but I couldnt sleep last night worrying. 
I guess I just want to talk to someone who's been through what I'm going through or maybe some tips for coming to terms with the diagnosis.

    Thank you for your advice. You're so right and I found your post very comforting and a good way to look at it. 
     

    I just feel like my life changed overnight and one minute I was focusing on normal things and now I'm just overtaken by worry about this cancer that I didn't even know was there! 
     

    I wish you the best of luck with your new drug, how fantastic you were able to find that online!

    Hello Laura, 

     

    I am sorry to hear your news, you are young and should not have to face this :(

     

    It is absolutley understandable that you cant stop crying and are worried, but you will find strength from deep inside and you will get through this, us girls are a strong breed!

     

    I dont have experience of Kidney Cancer to give you any advice so all i can do is wish you luck on your journey, Take care.
