Lobular cancer

I have just been diagnosed with lobular cancer and awaiting results of MRI to know extent of surgery

Anyone any experience of this?

  • Good to hear your experience and I hope you are happy with their final proposal

As much as has been said to date is that likely to have radiotherapy and chemo after surgery

i am early into undestanding the options - will find out more next week

Would be good to keep in touch

    Sending healing

  • I think initially it's very hard to take everything in and you are stuck  in some horrible limbo waiting for results and pathology, I certainly had some extreme lows during all the surgeries, which is very unlike me, I think it totally caught my husband off balance! However once surgery is behind you and all the results are back, so you know for sure what you are dealing with and the treatments they are proposing, it's a bit easier to be able to take back a bit control and do research on what your options are. You will always find someone on the forums having a similar experience to you or asking the questions you needs the answers to. There seem to be a lot of supportive people on here who have been through it all willing to share what they have learned. Unfortunately we are mostly bumbling through this experience learning as we go so it's only once we done it all we gain the knowledge we need!

Please update when you have your results, I am happy to share any advice and support I can though I am still on the learning curve myself!

  • Thank you for that I really appreciate your contact

It is indeed a confusing time as you say and a waiting game for results and proposals for action

i am lucky that in addition to hubby - who like yours is also a bit off balance - I have a daughter who works in pharmaceuticals and is asking all the right questions

it is good to know that you have benefitted from this forum and I will keep in touch

    Sending healing thoughts

Thank you; healing and hearts back to you too.

I too am waiting to hear about the other breast, as microcalcifications were seen.

I can't understand why they don't just do a full body MRI for everyone at this stage. Well, cost and health risks I suppose.

The waiting is horrible isn't it? I hope you've got the support of some good friends.

    Thinking of you

    Thanks for the reach out

i hope all works out for you and brings it all to healthy conclusion

Do you know what radio and chemo is for you going forward?

    Are you triple positive?

i am holding back telling people until I know the extent and way forward but I do have good friends for support - some of them have been affected themselves

i am lucky that my daughter understands quite a lot on the treatments

ironicalIy I worked for many years bringing a new cancer drug to market! I also used to approve  Arimdex and Nolvadex - tamoxifen for sale

    Unsettling times for sure

    you will in my prayers
