Breast cancer grade 3

Hi all, first time here. My mom was diagnosed with grade three breast cancer at the end of March this year. Im so scared. Her biopsy showed that there was no sign of cancer in the lymph nodes but as it's grade 3 it grows quicker and I'm so scared that it's going to spread. They also couldn't determine whether it was completed her2 neg or pos. Giving the covid 19 situation there is a delay on everything from appointments to surgery (already had 2 initial appointments cancelled). I'm only 25 and super close to my mom. She had an MRI last Monday and the results are in and being discussed with the MDT team. She will be having a lumpectomy, chemo and radiation but as she has other health issues ( high blood pressure , kidney stones ) it's making me extra worried. Can anybody share their stories so I don't feel so alone in this situation and is there really any hope :'(? Thank you

I'm not sure what complications your Mother's other health issues may create but I just wanted to reassure you that there's lots of other people who come out the other side smiling - and I'm (nearly) one of them.

I'm mid way through rads (fine but dull) but that will be over soon and have undergone chemo (floored a couple of times but generally fine), 2 lots of surgery (remaining discomfort improving day by day and the op itself was a doddle).  I appreciate its a crazy world at the moment but things will get better and although treatments are delayed the professionals still have timescales that they need to meet.  My first surgery in Feb before all this nonsense got cancelled once - it happens quite frequently even when there are no pandemics to deal with!

Am also grade 3 and although it did spread to nodes I've had full CT scan which shows its not progressed any further so hopefully your Mother's scan will show the same.  Plus do bear in mind that if BC spreads the first place it goes is the nodes so if they're clear that's a very good sign.

I would, along with your Mum, have along list of questions for your oncologist when you discuss the outcome of the MDT discussion.

Read my bio for details of my treatments.

    Best wishes for your Mum
