Surgeries & treatments during Covid

Hello forum.

I am relatively new to cancer, diagnosed in January with stage 4 Ovarian/peritoneal cancer. I am reaching limits of my chemo, but surgery necessary for my diagnoses is put on hold due to Covid. Am sure many of us here are effected by this.

Does anyone know please about any actions taken or anything we can do/join to fight our cases, so we be treated equally alongside of Covid in urgent cases & not put on hold in our fight for life? If anyone know any connections, please let me know.

Thank you so and blessings to all with your personal battles. TJ

  • Hi

I think we are all in the same boat so to speak,

Finished my chemo in January, finished my Radiotherapy

Was supposed to have scans and meet with oncologist before now on what is next for me if anything,

But have been put back to the 19th of may, a long time when I'm in pain and suffer Anxiety,

Nothing we can do about it,

They are only seeing urgent cases for now, so let's hope that's a positive,

    Regards Ange!

  • Hi tatika,

It's all happened so fast, alot of people are still in a spin about what's going on, but cancer patients are definitely being put on hold when they shouldn't be because of the risk of them catching this virus some hospitals should be for cancer patients only so the risk is very low. But the experts don't think like us because they don't have cancer.

Hopefully someone somewhere high up will have a brain wave soon and start looking after us properly instead of just pushing us to one side.

I don't think anyone has thought of getting organised to try to get some support for cancer patients plus buy the time it gets organised it'll hopefully be virus free. The idea is very good it's just organising everything would take to long. And the virus would slow it down. The way things are just now.

Hope you're all as well as can be. And definitely keep fighting.

    Billy
