Well firstly that's really positive news .. so hang on in there ... 

I mirrored yours but don't think mine was papilary one ... not heard of that, but I had a grade 3 her 2 negative oestrogen positive lump... no lymph node effected...

And yes mine was sent to the U S A ... funny thing was I was there when I found my lump while on holiday there ,. And that's where it finished up .. though I had a full masectomy on right boob ..

Mine came back low risk ... which I think is the best sinario... that was 3 years ago in July... so didn't need chemo and couldn't have radiotherapy because of my weak bones ... sorry can't remember how long it took .. but fingers crossed for a good result for you too ..

I had a sample of my tumour sent off last summer. Think it took around 3 weeks. Mine came back with a score of 16, so didn't need chemo. I was 48. X

I just got diagnosed papillary breast cancer from my core biopsy today.  I will wait for another two weeks for MRI to check if it spreads or not. Have you done yours? Totally shocked and don't know what shall I do now. I was 40 on this Monday. I didn't expect this. When I had my ultrasound and core biopsy, Dr said it looked like papilloma just low risk of cancer.  I burst into tears on the way home.  My husband thought I should take it easy but I can't.  Hope to hear some good news from you.

Mine actually turns out to be Grade 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma and not Papillary Carcinoma.  The consultant at the clinic just told me it was Grade 3 and i assumed it was the encapsulated/papillary carcinoma they originally thought it was.  Then a letter came through the post confirming it was invasive and it is ER highly positive 8/8. HER2 negative. I go back to oncologist on 6 March when my Oncotype results are back from America.  She thinks I probably will need Chemo due to high oestrogen receptors so has booked me in to start chemo the following week just in case.  It's not what I was expecting. It's like a double whammy because I went to the breast clinic originally thinking it was a cyst!! The worst bit is the waiting I think. It's like I'm in Limbo. I look and feel fine but everyday chores etc are tarred with this "thing" in the back of my mind.  I get told often that I am a strong woman, I just want to get on with whatever needs getting on with.  I haven't had or been offered an MRI but have seen from other threads that others have been.  

I know it's a silly thing to say, but try not to over think it. We are all hear for each other.

Hi Jo,

Grade 2 but I was initialy told it was very small but it unfortunately it wasn’t. Got clear margins (just) and no lymph node involvement which I was relieved by of course but it’s been a scary ride really. Good news followed by not such good news. Talk about a roller coaster. 

I am going good now. 9 radiotherapy sessions down and 6 to go. 

Main thing with the Onco test you won’t  be given chemo unnecessarily as so many are. 

Hoping you get a low score but even if you don’t the medics will really know what IS required  or not required

Thanks so much for sharing. Yes it's been a proper rollercoaster here too. Initially after biopsy results I was told pre cancer or encapsulated so not invasive and probably wouldn't even need radiotherapy.  Then to find out Grade 3 invasive was a shocker and possibly chemo. I guess no one really knows until they take it out and have a good look.

Sounds like you're smashing the radiotherapy. How are you feeling with it? Any side effects?

Hi Jo,

well so far not a lot. I am 67 and expected it to be really debilitating. I am not tired at all yet. Well no more than I am usually by the end of the day. My breast is just beginning to show signs of going pink. 

The thing I struggle with is the breathing when I am on the treatment table. I THINK it’s because I overthink everything. I have to hold my breath at a certain pitch to keep my heart and lungs away from the radiotherapy beam. (This only applies to those with cancer in the left breast)  I just can’t seem to perfect this very well. It went better today though. It’s not difficult but somehow it is for me. Always have been a slow learner!!!! 

So radiotherapy in my experience isn’t overly tough. The regime of travelling every day is more of a burden I would say. My round trip is just over 35 miles. Doable but a pain nevertheless.
