Side effects

hi I have just joined,

after A mastectomy I’m just had my first round of TC chemo , it has made me ill with side effects , especially a feeling of dizziness sweating , all I can do is sleep all day . They say after the second week you should pick up ready to start again , is anyone going through the same  sort of effects ?

    Hi and welcome (!),

    I haven't had the same treatments as you, I've had chemo (EC & some paclitaxel) and am about to have mastectomy.

    I was generally ok on the chemo but, like you, did feel particularly rough the week following the chemo, I felt better the following week (wk 2) but that's the week when immunity is low so that battered me a few times, by week 3 right as rain (apart from near the end of chemo when cumulative effect catches up!).

    I would however suggest that you check in with your support team (MacMillan/BCN/oncologist/whoever) to make sure they're aware of the side effects you're experiencing as they may be able to help and if they are severe (I had severe reaction to paclitaxel) may want to adjust dose or treatment schedule.

     thanks that’s been really helpful, going on my third week so feeling so much better the last2 days,  now I know what to exspect come nxt week to start all over again ,I’ll speak to doctor on Tuesday before chemo Thursday ,
