Stage 3 invasive ductal breast cancer

Hi - I was given diagnosis of stage 3 invasive ductal just a few days ago and now waiting for the treatment plan.
mom going crazy thinking the worst - that by the time o start treatment it will have progressed to stage 4 and it'll be too late. I'm 37 and everything I've read seems less positive for younger breast cancer cases - I can't bear the thought of leaving my two young children behind and whilst the last few days I've been staying positive, today I feel so scared and hoping to find others that have been through the same or have any experience of similar feelings. Xxxx

  • Hello,

sorry you find yourself on here but you've come to the right place....

your in the system now and your welfare will be first and foremost when your treatment plan is being put into place. All you have to do is hand yourself over to the experts, they know what they're doing...

have you been given any indication at all on what might happen? Don't get all wrapped up in the stage 3 part ( I know it's difficult not to) breast cancer treatment has advanced so much, my treatment has been first class....

i know your scared but I also know you will be more settled once you know and start your plan....you got this love xx

  • Hey

Sorry to hear why you are here. My diagnosis is the same as yours, diagnosed in March, I'm 43 with 2 young children.

I can understand why your mum would be worried, however your care team know what they are doing, if they thought things needed to go faster it would go faster. My treatment was delayed as I needed my appendix removed and it's not impacted on the outcome so far.

have a look at the thread below, there's a few of us on there that are getting through this, you are welcome to join in.

  • Hi thanks for checking in with me.
I have my MRI scan today and they have suggested surgery before Christmas but no date yet. Then they are going to reconsider chemo with the hope that I might not need it.
the waiting around has been driving me crazy - I can feel the lump getting bigger and it's so stressful but trying to stay calm and focused on the facts and what I've been told instead of letting my mind take over!

    hope you're doing ok xxx
