Colongiocarcinoma

My husband was 18 month post liver transplant for liver cancer when he started having severe back pain , after waiting several weeks for scan then several weeks for results , we were told he had colongiocarcinoma, mets in lymph nodes and lung, devastation is all I can say, wee glimmer of hope with duo chemo treatment but after six doses , scan showed no significant outcome to tumours and it had spread more, the communication skills of the oncologist was disgusting , I am a senior stroke nurse and have sat in with many to break bad news ,but never felt so utterly helpless for my husband . My husband asked if he would see Christmas and was told, I don’t think so and we won’t need to see you at clinic again any symptom management can be done through GP , please if anyone can give me a glimmer of any hope that we were robbed off just 2 days ago I would be grateful x

  • Welcome to the Cancer Chat forum Buddyboo although I'm very sorry to read what's happened.

I can't begin to imagine what you and your husband are going through at the moment but I just wanted you to know that you are not alone as many of our members have been in similar situations and hopefully some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice.

If you'd like to discuss your husband's situation with someone in person then do give our cancer nurses a call. They're available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on 0808 800 4040.

Best wishes to you both at this difficult time.

    Kind regards,
