Hi,
I have been on a journey of discovery in the last 10 weeks or so.
I had some blood when pooing so had a colonoscopy. Polyps removed nothing to worry about.
A week later and it turned out one of the polyps was cancerous but it had been caught early, just need to have a sigmoidoscopy. I thought this was to just remove a bit more to give a greater margin around the cancer but whilst I was having it, the consultant told me he was tatooing the spot so the surgeon could see what part to remove, but only if that was needed!
A few weeks later and the consultant tells me that it could have spread so I need a bowel resection, major surgery from something that was supposed to be ok was a big shock. I also needed to have a CT scan to see if they could find any more.
Results of the scan now show that there are nodules on my spleen. The radiologist is not worried and thinks they are benign and not a problem but now I need a MRI to confirm.
Nothing has been simple so far so what if this isn't? Should I be worried that this is more cancer? My op is scheduled for Sept 24th (and the prospect of that scares the hell out of me) so presumably all this will unravel during that time but I am pretty worried.
