Just had a biopsy which was really painful as I have breast implants and they struggled to get it. They were confident it’s just a fibroadenoma but I’m still stressing. Has anyone been told it’s just a fibroadenoma and it turned out to be malignant?
Hi just wondering how u are now...I've been following this as I've been told I have a lump and 90% it's a fibroadenoma but am very anxious that that 10% means it will turn out to be cancer...I'm trying to console myself by saying even if it is these lumps are so small itll be dealt with and prognosis will be good...any reassurance would be appreciated..thank u
i had a biopsy 2 weeks ago diagnosis was fibroadenoma, was told it had not cancer related and quited common. Hav eto say post biopsy i was scared out of my wits but i think that is natural. I hope your results are positive for you xxx
Can I asked you what were the changes that made you go to your gp?
I found a lump in my left breast about 3 months ago but ignored it and also stupidly pretended that I didn't notice that my nipple was slightly sinking on the side the lump is on. About 2 weeks ago I got pains in the area so felt around and realised the lump is much larger so went to the drs, I was referred to the breast clinic and saw the consultant yesterday, he felt around, found the lump and sent me for an ultrasound. The sonographer did, what I felt, was a rushed ultrasound nowhere near the lump and told me it was nothing, even when I asked if it was something swollen he just said it's nothing and rushed me out with a discharge letter.
I contacted PALS as I felt this was not acceptable, they called me today and the woman told me that the consultant has put it down as fibroadenoma.
I'm now so scared that it wasnt checked properly and it's more serious!
Sorry for the really long post but I just want to know if I'm being an idiot and should just leave it or push for someone to do something!

Hi i have just read all these posts about Fibroadenoma. I went to the doctors last tues with a lump, she referred me and said i would get an appointment within 2 weeks. Last Thursday i got a call asking me to attend the breast clinic the day after. So friday i went, they did an ultrasound, said the lump was nothing, but found a 10mm cyst in a different area, so they did a biopsy. The doctor said it will take week for results but he suspects its fibroadenoma, but he said they have weekly meeting on a Thursday and would discuss my results in the meetings. But what if its not Fibroadenoma, and why would they need to discuss the results if it was just that?
Hi, first of all I'd say don't worry but you naturally will until you're told it's ok! they discuss every result in a multi disciplinary meeting, it's standard practice so don't let that stress you!
