Scared of Chemotherapy

Hi, i have been diagnosed with Hodkins Lymphoma and begin 6 cycles of ABVD chemotherapy drugs tomorrow.  I am so scared of the side effects.  I have read all about them but fear i will be stuck in bed all the time and with two young children which will be so hard.

What are others people's experiences? Is it as bad as i am imagining?

Scared!

  • Hi, it's natural to be scared....I'm on chemo for breast cancer....and although it's not a walk in the park it is doable....and I must add that I always see a lady at my sessions, she is in her 70's and has chemo for hodkins lymphoma every 3 weeks and she is doing brilliantly! Apart from getting tired she said she really does feel ok...

try not to read too much about side effects, I don't as I have a tendency to talk myself into them! So, I've been taking it all day by day and have found I've managed better this way. God luck....once you get that first one under your belt I think you will be ok....xx

  • Hi shelly some people have no side effects at all,, others have slight side effects others like me big problems it depends on weather your body reacts good or bad to treatment I'm afraid there's no way but trying it,, some of the medication they give you should help anyway best wishes.
