  • Hi Northlondongal. Welcome to the forum.

In my experience, you can't read anything into the timing of results, nor the way results are given to you. The average hospital doctor (or even consultant) has only the vaguest idea of how long any person's results might take to turn-around, so their estimates are generally way off. Furthermore, if someone tells you that results will be delivered to you in a particular way (say phone or post), then you can be sure that is way they won't be delivered!  No one means to mess you about, but they're busy doctors in a busy hospital and these things just happen.

If your results have come back in earlier than you've been told to expect, then all you can say is that you've got less time to wait.  It is just as likely that your results are clear and they want to clear you off the books as it is that the results are bad.  Either way, many consultants prefer to tell you face to face to give them the opportunity to check how you're healing and to give you the opportunity to ask follow up questions
