Yesterday I was diagnosed with cancer of the womb. Total shock and so scary yet I have this weird feeling of being numb. Im not sure how I feel and am more worried about upsetting others.
I really don't know what to do, just feel so alone

Hi Lanie,
I am sorry to hear that you are going through this. I know it is very overwhelming and scary. I had stage 2A cervical cancer in 2012. I just want you to know you are not alone and you can do this! Take it one day, one appointment and one treatment at a time. Expect setbacks but accept them and move on. Do you know what stage and what your treatment plan will be? I had 4 rounds of chemo and several rounds of radiation.
Let me know how things progress. I am sure there will be other members on here that come along and greet you..

I'm sorry to hear your news. My wife was diagnosed with cancer (appendix) 6 weeks ago and we've just been going through the process of telling family and friends. She felt very similar to you and was very worried about telling others. We have told family, close friends and a few select work colleagues and our bosses, but not many others yet. We are waiting to understand the treatment plan before we tell everyone else.
We found the advice on the Macmillan website about telling others useful:
In my experience, it is scary, but it also brings a wave of support. Be prepared that it can start making things feel more real and you might feel a bit up and down and that's normal and ok.
And remember, you're not alone on this journey, there are lots of places to get support including here. Keep us updated with how you get on.
