Really sorry to hear about your dad being ill with this cancer. You will no doubt receive information as they find out more - hope it has not spread too much as it is an aggressive cancer I'm sorry to say. My closest friend was diagnosed with linitis plastica in January after admission to hospital with extreme stomach pain. She had an emergency operation which then led to the diagnosis. She was told that any treatment would be palliative. That was devastating to hear -she's 48 and didnt even know she had cancer. Since then, she's recovered well from the operation + has had 2 rounds of chemo + herceptin. From what I've read this can give folk with advanced stomach cancer a few more months .... She has lost alot of weight but can eat small portions. 

  We are all hopeful the chemo + herceptin will buy her more time but it's not been easy. Before starting the treatment she was doing really well and getting out lots but it's floored her for a week after each time. However she's remaining positive + is still making plans for the future as no-one knows how this will pan out. 

   I really hope your dad's cancer has not spread too far + he can eat again... maybe surgery will be an option for him. Let us know how things go x
