So sorry to read your post must be a very trying time for you and your mum.

I wish you both all the luck in the world for recovery from your bowel problems.

Seems this cancer is now curable and hope it works for you both.

Thank you for taking the time to reply, we haven't been told the grade of my mum's but they have said it is incurable, she is half way through her chemo course and is finding it tiring with usual side effects of nausea, headaches, dizziness. We just have to pray it has worked and at best stopped it from spreading anymore.

I have been experiencing blood in my stool on and of since August, I went to the Drs a few times but sadly because of my age they thought a tumor would be unlikely, I was refered for a colonscopy by the Dr in October and that was for peace of mind and reassurance but unfortunately it showed a tumor.

My Dad also had bowel cancer and sadly died in 2001.

Oh my, thank goodness you had the colonoscopy when you did! I shudder to think what would have happened if you hadn't. My husband has a colonoscopy every 3 years, he gets an automatic call from the hospital....I expect you will be monitored very closely now. 

Now it's a waiting game ( cancer loves us to wait for everything)  I wish you luck for your scans next week and the treatment plan....if cancer has taught me anything it's.....don't sweat the small stuff, it really focuses the mind and makes you uber aware of what's important.....

The people I have told so far have said at least you have caught it early but we don't know that as I have experienced symptoms since August. You are right about it putting things into perspective my husband has spent the weekend discussing all the things we are going to do when I'm better but I just want my scan results so I know what I'm up against, my little boy is keeping me occupied as much as poosibe.

How is your husband now?
