Meningioma Brain Tumor

Hi all,

I have been diagnosed with a meningioma 11x9x7mm left parasagittal frontal convexity meningioma to be precise. I have been told my by neurosurgeon that it’s nothing to worry about it’s small and will wait and watch. I’m not even sure what that means mentally for me but I’m doing what I can to get on with my life as I am a young mum with a 4 year old. So recently I have noticed a lump on my neck, doctors have put it down to norovirus and that’s my glands are swollen as a result. I am 110% not convinced As the lump has been there for well over a month now.. I am getting really scared having read so many post about the neck lump

being tonsil cancer etc. To rule it out and I am not one to sit back and wait for bad news as I have a 4 years old to think about and my future does anyone know of what tests to do to rule this out ? I am currently off balance, nusea ( with vomiting sorry for the tmi) and breathless not to mention my mood change I’ve become an alien I cannot control my emotions any more ! Any help will go a long way. Ps my doctor has referred me for a full blood count in January 2019.

  • Hi repab,

Sorry about the meningioma, I hope it's benign (as most are) and isn't causing you too many symptoms?

You don't say where the lump on your neck is but swollen lymph nodes on the neck (and other places) are incredibly common and annoyingly they don't always go down, not even after their cause has cleared up.  I still have two (it was 8 at one count) and that is decades on from whatever caused them.  So please don't worry needlessly, you're GP is getting an FBC in January and it is all getting checked out.

Fingers crossed it is just the norovirus that has caused the swelling.

    Best wishes,

    LJ
