Diagnosed

Hello everyone hope you are all coping with diagnosis. I find myself learning to cope with new words and technical language, still doesn't seem real but sure I will be able to understand more as the weeks go by.

I have had colonoscopy found lesion then follow up with ct scan then mri. Then had meeting with Doctor who confirmed Cancer 9th of November.

So my file was sent to another hospital, the doctor recommended Chemoradiotherapy as most likely treatment.

Then tonight I got phone call asking me to attend for another scan, Pet Scan next Thursday.

emotions have been going round and round I have no idea what stage i haven't met oncologist yet.

Just so aware of the time and possible treatment. So far by the time I have pet scan I would of been to my local hospital in Gateshead then referred to another hospital although I haven't been to that one yet, as my pet scan Is taken place at a hospital in Middlesbrough next week.

Kind regards x

  • Hello

I’m so sorry to hear your diagnosis....

I have been diagnosed with bowel cancer in July this yesr - In June I have been rushed to have scan and surgery you can read my story in the profile if you wish.

I have been assigned for 4 cycles of Xelox chemo which I have already completed two weeks ago.

Cancer has been in 2nd stage without spread to lymph nodes and other organs so far.

I will have my blood tests done in the behinning of December - this is already stressing me out btw...

From my experiance the waiting time is the worst! I have been waiting to know what was cut out from my bowel for more than a month and already started to think that it couldn’t be bad as of that will be cancer they would already let me know

please try to keep your mind as busy as possible with only positive things :) and of course stay positive as it does help a lot

    Good luck!

    Mal
