I don’t know what to say????

ive been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. I never really understood what that meant until I googled today.

im so scared I’m going to die, I have a three year old little girl and I’m terrified. I’m only 37, I’ve just got home from surgery today and the next two weeks is going to be really tough.

I’m absolutely terrified. Is there anyone out there who had this type of cancer and are doing fine and well?

Im so scared

  • Hi there ...

So sorry you've got that diagnosis ... I'm a grade 3 breast lass ... if I were you I'd give the nurses a phone call .. their number is on home page .. from Monday to Fri.. or mcmillan have a help line too ... writs down All those questions you need to ask ... they don't mind how long the call takes ... and they are trained nurses so their advice is invaluable. ..

There's lots of us breast lasses on here... so you don't have to do this alone ... we all have different cancer and treatments ... but wer all holding on to each other and wer doing everything to kick cancers *** ...  breast cancer has come a long way .. so hold on in there ... wer all with you ...

  • Hi Disneymad,

So sorry about your diagnosis.  I'm not triple negative but my breast cancer was discovered at stage 3 so really very advanced, I totally understand your fear.  I had to have my chemotherapy first as my cancer was already spreading but have just got home from the hospital having had my mastectomy.

Try not to use the Google Doc unless you have a good amount of medical knowledge.  You will find lots of stuff on there that isn't correct, but if you can't tell what is true and what is false then you are really going to stress yourself out with it.

Like Chriss has said, phoning the nurses at Cancer Research would probably be a good idea for you, it might really help you to just talk it through with an expert.

We are all here to talk to as well, but aren't medical experts obviously.  Still, it can be very helpful to talk to people going through similar.

Wishing you a fast and full recovery from surgery.
