The answer is yes. You may have to make some adjustments to your daily routine as you might get more tired than normal and take really good care of your skin but I worked  for most of the time, reduced hours for the last part.

Just wanted to drop by nd say I had lumpectomy nd node removal followed by RT and I was fine... and I live on my own ( no dogs mind) :-)

i was asked if there was someone at home at discharge from op (had  day case op). My daughter stayed with me that night. Don’t know if makes a difference at discharge if u don’t have someone. I would ask.. and/or see if there is someone who can stay that night. I was fine- got home late  had soup, tea. Nd 2 paracetamol then bed. Was out and about at shops nd pub for food next day :-) Personally I had no problems what so ever during or after my RT. Remember everyone is different so play by ear and listen to your own body :-)

Sorry to hear about your husband :(

I don't remember it all that well as I was young, but my mum had radiotherapy with her first bout of breast cancer.  She did have my dad, but she also had 3 young daughters and a job and seemed to manage, so while you'll no doubt have bad days and bad moments it is possible to get through it.

Ask your care team, or folk on here, what kind of things you're most likely to struggle with and put measures in place now that will help when you're actually undergoing the treatment.  Starting to look after your skin really well now is probably a good idea.
