I'm sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with complex hyperplasia without atypia and I can appreciate why you are worried about what your condition could mean as far as your fertility is concerned. With all the questions that must be playing in your mind, this must be a very difficult time for you and I hope you will soon get to talk with others here who can offer you a word of advice and support.

Hey Tracey, 

       I am in the exact same boat as you. I'm sorry to hear that you got that diagnosis! I got the results of my biopsy yesterday and was also diagnosed with Compex Hyperplasia, but I do have Atypia. What is the next step for you? Have you started Mirena? I am meeting with an oncologist on Wednesday, probably with need to get a D&C and then go from there. I am terrified that I am going to need a hysterectomy because I want to have children.

Your situation is very similar to mine apart from I have with Aytpia.

I am six months down the line from you, I am going for my first check up since having the mirena fitted last August.

I will keep you posted.

Have they told you about your plan once you have had the Mirena fitted?

I know this post is a few months old but I’ve just come across it. 

Im 24 and was diagnosed with Complex Hyperplasia without Atypia in July last year. A Mirena was inserted in August and I had a 6 month biopsy in February and another 2 weeks ago. First biopsy was clear (no sign of Hyperplasia) and im still waiting for the most recent biopsy results. 

I have no children yet but if my biopsy results are clear again, then my Mirena can be removed and my partner and I can start trying :)

I know these posts were a few years ago but I wondered how you were all getting on? I am now in a similar position except they are unable to tell me if it's cancer or not but have said I can either have a hysterectomy or try the mirena coil. I am edging towards the mirena coil but I wondered how this worked for you? Thanks x

I was diagnosed with Atypia Complex Hyperplasia & i had the awful discussion & decision of either having a hysterectomy and Chemotherapy or a Mirena Coil ? Luckily i have the best ( in my eyes ) Gynaecology consultant the NHS has to offer and he is an amazing human being.

I can say after a long long chat with my Gynae consultant and all the research he kindly provided me with so i didnt have to stress myself trying to look everything up, together we made the best, womb saving desicion for me and that was to have the Mirena Coil, i am now 2 years down the line with my little T Shape friend snug inside my womb, i have had biopsies every 6 months for the last 2 years and i can happily say my Hyperplasia has dissapeared completely and my womb is clear from stage 2 cancer and i have only used the Mirena Coil.

I am now due my next biopsy in 2 weeks and i will be discussing about removal of the coil as i have met the man of my dreams and i want to start a family - this would not have been possible if i had not chosen the mirena, therefore always discuss and researchyour options before making a decision.

Helen that is so reassuring to hear and I'm glad it worked out for you. I'm in a similar position and have also been diagnosed with Atypia Complex Hyperplasia and have had the Mirena coil fitted. Waiting to hear back about my biopsy so feeling worried at the moment. I'm also trying to conceive so hoping that it works out for me the same as you :) 

How did you get on Leah?

I had a hysteroscopy nearly two weeks ago as an ultrasound showed a very thick womb lining (23mm) and lots of polyps. I had a MyoSure procedure and the polyps removed plus a Mirena coil was fitted at the same time. They also did a biopsy. I’ve now had a phone call from the hospital this morning to come in and see the gynae consultant this Thursday. I’m really worried now they’ve found something nasty. Hyperplasia was mentioned after the MyoSure so it could be that. I’m just really nervous.

So I was due to have an appointment to talk to me about it but it was cancelled because of Covid-19. Instead I had a telephone consultation and he said the cells are still the same. I had only had the mirena coil done that same day too though so it's not had much chance to do anything yet. My next biopsy is due at the beginning of June. I have been bleeding a lot too from the Mirena coil and not sure if that's a worry or not.

I hope you dont mind me replying, the coil is removed and replaced everytime you have a bioposy.  The coil is good for 5 years when you are using it for protection, when you have hyperplaisa is is changed more often.

I was diagnosed with complex hyperplasia 8 years ago after 2 failed IVFs.  I have had no, of biospsies and changed coil each time.
