Thanks for posting on here. I know all too well how it feels waiting for tests/results as over six years ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. But as my wife had made me go to my GP, it was caught early and I have made a good recovery.

Have they started you on hormone therapy for that can make some men feel fatigued and give pain in the joints. I never had that problem luckily. I would mention this to your medical team as they may be able to do something about it

Thank you very much for replying - I am not on treatment yet - still waiting for bone scan and MRI - my diagnosis is 7 on the Gleason Scale - medics seem to be suggesting radiotherapy or prostate removal as most likely options - thanks again - great to get another view.

Hi Ken -thanks very much for your response - I have got MRI tomorrow and bone scan on Friday - think surgery will probably be the outcome - possible side effects worry me but radiotherapy doesn't seem much better - just have to see - all the best to you - let me know how things go - cheers John

I thought I would drop you a line to let you know it's not all doom and gloom I am 6mths post surgery and fully continent and yes use viagra occasionally it's OK with or without and getting better all the time.

It seems like a long journey but I sometimes forget I had the opportunity now and my life is returning to normal I don't use any pads and feel blessed to be cancer free.

I had my moments after surgery where I thought what have I done but it passes as you recover and your body and nerves heal.

I had nerves spared on one side and very high gleeson so had no options but regret nothing and have returned to work as a physical instructor with no limitations!!

Everyone is différant and have their own way to deal with things and I would have loved someone to have told me a balanced view before I had the opportunity as I had a lot of anxiety that did not help and turned out to be unjustified.

I work for the NHS and researched my surgery to death before I went in lol
