  • Hello Caya, a warm welcome to our forum!

You are right keeping things bottled up inside isn't good and the good news is you have joined the right place to meet people who have or have had essential thrombocythaemia. I remember we've had quite a few members on our forum recently who posted to share their ET story. I would suggest you take a look at this thread by [@ChrisAnnSen]‍ who has recently been diagnosed and who also mentioned that she is is having to take an aspirin every day. Feel free to respond to her thread if you wish. Another member [@AndrewF]‍ also has an active thread on the subject which you can find here.

We also have some information on ET on our website here.

I hope this helps a little and that you can meet some of our lovely members who are in a similar situation and understand exactly how you are feeling at the moment.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Caya,

Just seen your post, I've just updated on my situation. No doubt by now you will have seen my posts so far.   Being a rare condition, you will feel isolated and lonely. None of my friends or relations  have heard of it, which makes us rather special.  Since being diagnosed I have been on an up and down journey, but luckily a supportive and  sympathetic GP has been a great help.  Sometimes  a varied experince with the consultants, but as my GP said, if they do not give you a satisfactory consultation, sit there until you get the answer.  I had to insist on a change of medication, and now feeling much better.

    How are you now ?
