finding our way

My wife suffered a seizure at the end of October and was subsequently diagnosed with advanced non small cell lung cancer with secondary brain tumours. The tumours were treated with radiotherapy last week. She has loss of feeling in her right side - her hand is more or less useless and she now has a limp. However she has no symptoms associated with lung cancer. The oncologist is now suggesting that she has chemotherapy to treat the cancer even though it is not giving her any problems. We just need to know if treatment is always the best option.

  • Hello angel1,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I am sorry to hear about your wife's diagnosis and the loss of feeling she has been experiencing in her right side. I think it is always a good idea to follow your oncologist's advice as they will know best what kind of treatment is most suitable for your wife  in her specific case.

Feel free also to ring our nurses as it can help to talk things through with them. You can reach them on this free number if you live in the UK 0808 800 4040 and their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. They also have an Ask the Nurses topic area on our forum.

    Best wishes,
