Diagnosed with ovarian cancer

Hi

I've just been diagnosed with stage1c2 high grade serous adenocarinoma after a total hysterectomy 3 weeks ago ( now waiting for my chemo ) I feel so scared and lost and looking for any advice that will help me get through it as finding it hard to speak to my family as I don't want to freak them with all my fears and worries

  • Hi Debbie

I was diagnosed with cancer after a hysterectomy it feels as if someone has just taken all the wind out of you.

Speak to your family and friends as they will be worrying about you. I could not tell my mum everything because of her health but when she asked what she could do, l told her that I did not have to have stress and be positive.

l did have tears with my husband and could speak to him about anything which was a real help.

You will swing from one emotion to another and speaking about it helps. Write down any questions and fears you have rather than trying to remember them for your next appointment.

I think one of the worst things is that you feel out of control, so take control ask, learn what you can (except from google) speak to others you will be surprised how many people have been effected by cancer.

    we are here for you.
