I started my 6 months worth of chemo on 28th April so I know exactly how you feel. I think it's the unknown that is the worst and knowing your going to be unwell for a few days. Do you know what chemotherpay you are having? What I will say is, it'll never be as bad as you think. I was incredibly unwell after my first session but that's only because they messed my anti sickness tablets up so my second chemo was ok and I wasn't unwell at all. I know everyone reacts different but the longest I felt unwell for was 4 days so try and focus on the fact that after those four days, you'll be ok.

I'll be having my third chemo session next Thursday and I honestly can't believe how quick it's come around and hope that it'll be the same for you.

Tips for chemo drink plent of fluids especially water during and after your session.  If you are having the chemo in you vein keep your hands and arms warm that day then the veins are easier to find.

Keep a chemo diary of how you feel this will help when you see the doctor during your sessions and also will start to show you a pattern.  I used to feel fine for a few days then side effects kicked in for about three days but it depends on the chemo you are having.

If you feel tired dont fight it sleep when you need to try and take some exercise (walking or similar- dont go mad) when you can.  I know this sounds a bit contradictory but the exercise helps - if you are working during your treatment make sure you get enough rest. 

If you are getting a wig get it sooner before your hair comes out - the NHS ones are really quite good (and free).

Accept help from friends and family when you need to.

Do what they tell you

Most importantly ask whatever questions you want - there is no such thing as a stupid question.

Aw thank you very much that's reassuring to know! I'm having Rituximab tomoro I will be there all day they told me? Then the following day I'm going bavk again to have bendamustine?
