It is a hellish shock when you get this devastating news. I had similar experience in June 2013. I too thought at worst I had pneumonia so diagnosis from X-ray that I had malignant tumour in my right lung was completely unexpected. You will hopefully be fast tracked now and start your tests very soon. That way you'll know what you're dealing with. I likened it to a roller coaster experience. There are times when you want to get off but sadly can't! All I can say is that 18 months on I'm here minus a lung but fine. Sadly I can't guarantee this for you at this stage but I will be rooting for you. I've no personal details about you but I was 57 when I was diagnosed.Try to take someone with you to your tests and consultations. That way you'll have the support you need. Don't look too far forward. Deal with each day as it comes. Try to stay positive and keep a smile on your face. Not easy but helps everyone around you cope better.Speak to your Macmillan nurse. Mine was amazing. Ask for help from anyone willing to give it. Don't face this alone! Good luck. I really hope it works out for you.
