Lymph node swellings, told likely metastatic

Hi… I can t believe I am here and am in total turmoil.

I am 59 and went to drs with firm neck lump. Was told it was a muscle and given muscle relaxant medication to take for 8 days. They didn’t work.  Went back and put on 2ww. Had ultra sound and was told accidentally “I think it is’. Then an immediate FNA was carried out there and then. A week later I got a report in my care saying likely metastasis but inconclusive. Ent said likely a lymphoma or spread from somewhere else.

I was then sent for full body  Pet-ct and head and neck MRI. I have also had a core biopsy.

These tests started 2 and a half months ago. Still no results and no appointment booked going forward.

Going out of my mind.

Hi, thank you for your message.

I’m glad yours was caught at a time whereby treatment has been successful for you.

i have been told mine is likely metastatic. Questionable area at back of tongue, top of right lung and both femers. Have been told lung and femers not highly suspicious but need to be sent to specialists for more indepth viewing. Suggestion is removal of glands and biopsies of the tongue. So just a waiting game.

If it does turn out to be a lymphoma I will definitely tax your brain if I have any questions.

Hi Lymphomas will just about turn up anywhere in body and most people are graded 4 due to waiting so long for diagnosis. Grade 4 is not a death sentence with Lymphoma. My lower jaw bone incased my cancer and slowed its journey I did get lymph nodes popping up on my neck but they were clear just my body reacting to the cancer above. Hope all goes well and stay positive.

Thank you for  explaining that. I will stay as  positive as I can and await to see what Monday brings.
    Thanks again.
