Im sorry that you have been diagnosed with SCC on your face and nose.

I've had many SCC and BCC removed over the last 30 years. The lesions generally do not spread but can pop up in other areas of sun damaged skin. You will likely not have to have a scan. You will have a scar that will fade over time. You will be given instructions on how to look after the wound and your skin graft if you have one. Generally you keep the dressing dry until you are called back to have stitches removed. Yes you can get an infection on the wound, if it feels hot or you feel unwell contact the hospital right away. If you have a skin graft take it easy for a couple of weeks, no heavy lifting or strenuous exercise which can raise your blood pressure and rupture the tiny new blood vessels that will be forming to support the graft. Yes you can eat but gently for your lip. Yes you can work but you may not feel like it. And you can drive except on the day of the operation when the local anaesthetic may affect your ability to drive and if you did have an accident your insurance would be invalid.
