Breast cancer diagnosis 27th May - I hate the fact my life is no longer under my control

Cried when they told me, now I  am numb, waiting on my first appointment to discuss way forward.

Starting to tell family and keeping busy as there is little I can do for now.

I hate the fact my life is no longer under my control.

That I can't plan anything or continue to book clients in the next 6 months.in my business

I hate the fact that am now 'the one' with cancer.

  • I was diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer the day after my 50th birthday (29th may) its ductile and in my lymph nodes. ive had all tests and I’ve  got my appointment on Friday to find out treatment plan and next steps. It’s a strange thing to say but I’m looking forward to it just for the simple fact that I can plan ahead from then and have a bit of control back. The not knowing is awful, every one including work asking for information about time off needed and recovery times, it’s stressful.
good luck with everything, we’ve got this ️

  • Hi there, I  have now been for my appointment yesterday with the surgeon who explained everything in depth. Including the hormone receptor status and the HER2  status,  which defines part of the treatment. Amazingly I  feel.better for having met the team. I now booked for an MRI, had bloods and ECG..Surgery not till mid August because of waiting list. Came home with loads of leaflets which explains everything in depth. Strangely I feel more calm than before. I can now plan the next 6 weeks, as for beyond that its unknown until surgery is performed.  You will feel.better after meeting the team. Good luck.

  • Ah that's good, yes I'm sure i will feel better once I meet the team. I know mine is chemo first though as tumour quite large. Not good tou have to wait till August...waiting lists are so long everywhere aren't they?whereabouts in the country are you? X
