PPC Update

I saw the oncologist on Tuesday and unfortunately he said it was time for another CT and chemo as my CA125 has doubled again from 54 three months ago. I have only had around 7 months remission this time. I had been having some abdominal cramps and pains so I wasn’t really surprised by the result.

For this third round of chemo it will be carboplatin only, either 3-weekly or weekly. Hoping it will be 3-weekly so that I hopefully don’t miss any summer weather that we might have! I told the oncologist I was going on holiday from 29 June no matter what! He has booked a CT for when we get back in July and will see me 2 weeks after that.

I feel really well at the moment so things are good. Hope others are doing well with and after treatment.

  • Hey EAH,

I'm sorry to hear your CA125 has doubled again and that you'll be needing more chemo.

This must be very frustrating but fingers crossed the carboplatin does it's job and you'll be back in remission once more.

Our team of cancer nurses are available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on the number bone-cancer-patient mentioned in their post, so do give them a call if you have any questions or concerns.

In the meantime, I hope you have a wonderful time on holiday and all goes well with your CT scan in July.

Do let us know how things go - we'll have our fingers crossed for good news.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
