New diagnosis today - Stage 2, grade 3, Invasive Breast Cancer

My results today showed I have Invasive Breast Cancer stage 2 grade 3 with oestrogen positive progesterone positive and HER2 receptor positive. My lump is measured at 4 cm with some dispersed but in the left breast. They have saiid due to my age they would offer chemotherapy for 6 months followed by lumpectomy and then radiotherapy treatment. So looking at 9  to 12 months of treatment.they plan to take 2 limp nodes out as well.i have to have injections at the same time as chemotherapy due to blocking the receptors. The plan is that I need CT and MRI scan as well as a heart scan, and they want more tests and an appointment with oncologist and to start the chemo very soon within 3 weeks they hope.

  • Hi

I had my 1st chemo 3rd July & next one due week today. Not been too bad with the 1st one. Had series of biopsies due to suspect nodule & lymph node thrown up. Nodule couldn't be seen on several follow up ultrasounds so biopsies taken under mri. Lymph node biopsy was done twice. So mammograms ultrasounds ct contrast scan didnt pick up these areas. Thankfully contrast mri did. Treatment plan remains same. Surgery likely to be mastectomy for safety in Oct.

Hope they can settle your bloods and your chemo journey is ok without too many symptoms. I joined a fb site for my type of cancer & I found it to very supportive and very informative. Is a mixture of survivors and people currently going through chemo to new people. They are really helpful for tips and advice that helped them with problems.

You might find that helpful is breast cancer invasive carcinoma women's group.

Good luck with your treatments and recovery on the other side xx
