Hi I have recently been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I am 46years old and a mum of 5 children aged 29yrs, 27yrs, 24yrs, 21yrs and 13yrs and grandma to 3 grandchildren aged 9yrs, 7yrs and 2 months old. I have had MRI scans, CT scan and biopsy. Results below -
MRI pelvis - ovarian protocol.
Bilateral multiloculated solid/ cystic adnexal masses arise from the ovaries. The left is posterior to the uterus and measures 8 × 5 x 6cm. The right is anterior to the uterus and rises into the right iliac fossa.
It measures 15 x 13 x 10 cm. Aspects of it have incomplete septi suggesting fallopian tube involvement.
Both masses contain copious amounts of solid tissue which shows avid enhancement and restriction of diffusion. There are multiple areas of solid enhancing nodules within the peritoneum, separate from the masses, including a large conglomerate of nodules in the central lower abdomen, some of which bulge through the abdominal wall into the superficial fat. These would be amenable to biopsy. Pathological lymph nodes seen along both pelvic sidewalls, in the the left mesorectal fat, along the course of the left common iliac vessels and in the para-aortic region just below the renal vessels. There is a small volume of ascites.
Despite the large volume of disease, the ureters are not dilated and kidneys are not hydronephrotic.
MRI Liver
Probable liver and left adrenal metastases.
CT Thorax
No thoracic metastatic disease. There are lung changes suggestive of bronchiolitis. This could be infective or inflammatory.
Only had biopsy yesterday, therefore waiting for results.
My head is all over the place and would like some advice on what treatment people have had and if there are any survivors. I feel like my whole world and life has come to an end. Any feedback and support would be much appreciated. Thank you.
