Newly diagnosed stage 1 womb cancer

Hi All

I am recently diagnosed with stage 1 womb cancer at 57.

A hysteroscopy biospsy identified this and I also have a lesion on my ovary that needs a urgent MRI

Since then, a week and a half ago I have heard nothing, I have no idea how long an urgent MRI takes or when treatment will start (I am told I will likley need a hysterectomy)

Any guidance appreciated , still feeling very confused and no idea what happens next, I am based in Yorkshire.

How are you feeling now that you are post op?  Are you having to have anti-coag injections?  I do, and full of abdominal bruises, which is where I am injecting.  I hope to get the histology results sooner rather than later and hope that I have the all-clear, and for you too.  Health-wise I feel fine, though still a little tender after the op and getting out walking every day. How about you?

Yes I have 28 days of the jabs - I’ve had them before after a big spell in hospital so I knew they would sting and bruise! Not sure how I’ll have space for 28.

i feel a bit rough if I’m honest - I’m very bruised below one of the entry points. I also think my skin may not be tolerating the ‘glue’ as it’s very red.

I had some odd blood results so have had extra tests back at the hospital but all OK now. I do feel like a beached whale trying to get out of bed! It’s a week for me post op and we went for a reasonable walk yesterday.

    1. Sorry you are feeling rough with odd blood results.  I am in a fairly good recovery phase really atm just 10 days post op.  I have been sleeping in my spare room as didn't want to get knocked by hubby.  This has helped when I was awake during the night.  I am getting up OK now and wounds healing.  Walking for around 3,000 or so steps daily.  I have a hospital telephone review today.  My bloated stomach has reduced and dont have much gas now, which was painful initially.  We will get there.  Its still very early days.  I am going shopping later to look at more proteins for my diet.  I have to reduce carbs due to diabetes 2 but good job I like veggies.  Hubby will be doing any lifting though.  Have a good day.
  • Hi Both, sorry you've had upsets, Hopefully they will pass soon. I got appointment today for chest infection which is not good with the coughing down below, hopefully I'll get something and then possibly get to have a good night sleep.

My Daughter has been walking with me for 5mins twice a day around our lounge area.

I went out for bloods last Friday, then a Starbucks but was washed out all weekend.

It is really hard as I never sit still, I'm a do-er not one to be lazy, that's my hardest thing.

  • Hi there RSA the MRI was quick down here in Wales, hopefully you'll here soon, not sure if you posted anything else as this is the only message I can see at the moment.

Fingers crossed for a speedy outcome
