Replies to my first post

Hi eveyone

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who responded to my first post, your replies have been a great help in realising that although I live alone i am not alone on journey, some of you are further along and some of you are similar to me.  I have tried to reply to each post but I haven’t worked out yet if it’s a common thread for all to see or if it’s just my thread, technology can sometimes baffle me

Setting aside I live alone most of the time (my daughter comes home from uni throughout the year) I’m hoping we can all be a support to each other on our journeys by posting on here, I seem to get emails alerting me to a message response so I’m thinking that could be a way of making contact with someone if needed.  So far I feel like I am holding my own with this thing (I call it “thing” as I don’t like the c word, I lost both my parents to it in 2005 and 2009 when detection and treatment was not as good as it is now).  As I feel reassured about my treatment I am happy to help anyone with a message.  We should all take care of ourselves and be as strong as we can for the journey, Lorraine xx

  • Hello Lorraine

I'm so glad to hear that the replies you've received on your first post have given you comfort and helped you to realise that you're not alone in this journey. We know that for so many people, being able to connect and chat with others who understand offers a great source of support, advice and comfort to those who are journeying with cancer.

I'm sure that as time passes, you'll be able to offer help and support to others who find themselves facing situations where they feel alone or scared.

In terms of the technicalities that you've mentioned above, the thread does indeed belong to you as the original author, but it is a thread that anyone can see, so I'm sure that there will be people who read and find comfort without replying. If you need any specific help with using the forum, you can find lots of information by clicking the Forum Help at the top of the page or clicking the Contact a Moderator button and we will do our best to help with any questions.

Keep in touch Lorraine! We're here for you.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
