I was reading a thread on here a couple of weeks ago it was one that had been added to for about 6 pages over a period of time
One of the posters was a male I think and was saying he had a neck lump diagnosed hpv and opted to watch and wait , against all advice from basically the oncology team etc but he stood firm and waited and said it was about 15 months until they finally found the primary, tiny showing on a tonsil
Then and only then he said yes we can act now ended up having minimal treatment
Is that guy still about? does anyone know who Im talking about
Im in exactly the same position I have a hpv + lump ( supposedly) in the neck been there 11 months now they have nose camera'd me 3 times /ct scan with dye/ pet/ct scan and still they cant find anything but are insisting on full tonsils out /base of tongue/ whole one side of neck node removal removal by TORS and neck resection ( with all the risks bleeding, nerve damage, no swallow, lymphedema, paralysis of mouth tongue face etc etc not to mention the pain scarring and everything else that goes with that type of radicle surgery etc)
I told them they were adopting the 'cut the tree down to pick and apple' ethos and they didn't even know there was an apple ( that is the title of a medical paper on the subject actually which they didn't seem to like me knowing about)
But i would really like to speak to the guy who stood his ground and said no to this and ask what sort of treatment he got after, as today, because I didn't want to sign on their dotted line begging the gods for gifts of wealth and good fortune to fall at their feet for 'helping' me I basically got told 'oh well if you dont want what we're offering you we'll just send you back to who sent you here '
Bad girl for not doing as you are told basically so **** off.
I wont be bullied and I wont put up with being treated sub standardly going forward because I don't agree with their treatment plan
any ideas who this guy is who said no ??? anyone x
