Diagnosed 10 weeks ago with stage 4 lung cancer. Has anyone had side effects from Denosumab injections and Tagrisso tablets?

Hi everyone, I’ve recently been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that has spread to my spine and brain , I was being treated for suspected Rheumatoid Arthritis and waiting for a referral, well 10 weeks ago I had pain while breathing GP sent me for a scan and that’s when I received the diagnosis, it was a shock , things have moved quickly since then , my question is have any of you had side effects from Denosumab injections and Tagrisso tablets , I have a specific genetic cancer ( never smoked or drank and lived a healthy life of sorts ) I’ve had my second denosomab injection and my back is aching , I also have had some breathlessness and have had steroids to help with this , I’m having an xray tomorrow to rule out pneuminitis , I’m hoping I can carry on with my treatment

  • Hi dogmam

    • Sorry to hear of your lung cancer diagnosis. I have denosumab injections 6 weekly but not Tagrisso. I do get breathless episodes but I dont think its from the Denosumab and it is not pneumonitis. I too have back pain but it is more likely due to bony lesions on my spine. I think denosumab is well tolerated and is worthwhile taking for the protection it can give your spine from collapsing. Do you also take Adcal calcium D3  supplement? Hope others on similar treatment will respond. Ed
