Worried about chemo side effects and possible hair loss. Can someone help me through this?

Hi

I have now reached the chemo stage after my mastectomy.

I am due to start 16 weeks of  chemo every two weeks  very soon.

I am very anxious and upset about hair loss and the brutal side effects they tell you about!

Can anyone who has been through this help me please

    Hi, I’m a couple of weeks ahead of you. Looks like the same treatment plan of 8 sessions over 16 weeks. I started on EC last Friday. Felt fine over the weekend. Fatigue and nausea from Monday to Wednesday, fine from Wednesday evening through to now. I was also very worried about my hair. I’m using a cold cap, was fine, didn’t find it too uncomfortable. I did get a good trim before treatment as missed my last hair appointment due to surgery and it was all turning into a knotty mess. Also, I think even after treatment has stopped, you can’t go for a hair cut straight away.

    Hi there I have decided against a cold cap.bI have to say I went for a wig today and it was surprisingly brilliant. So aI am going down that road. I start chemo next week so have yet to experience the side effects hopefully it won't be too bad. Wishing you well x
