  • Hi Baz,

A warm welcome to Cancer Chat and thank you for sharing your story. I hope you won't mind but I have added a bit more information to the title so that it includes the type of cancer you have been diagnosed with. This will hopefully allow more people to notice your thread and share their experience if they have themselves been affected by kidney cancer. You will find out more information on our website on kidney cancer including on treatment for kidney cancer. How did your first radiotherapy session go?

It's so sad that you are having to give up your company and it's normal to be feeling lost after everything you have been through and I hope that you will hear from others here who can relate to how you are feeling and who are willing to share their experiences. If you type the keywords 'kidney cancer' in our forum search at the top of this page, you will be able to see other threads from members who have been diagnosed with kidney cancer and don't hesitate to respond to those you feel might be of interest to you. I thought I would mention a few threads you could have a look at and respond to if you wish to do so - for example  posted their kidney cancer thread and  posted this thread about his diagnosis and you will find many more similar posts from members of our community who had a kidney cancer diagnosis.

If you wanted to reach out to our cancer nurses at any point and ask any questions or simply talk things through with them, you can also give them a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

I hope that you will feel a little better talking to others here and that your treatment goes well.

    Best wishes,

    Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator
