Kidney Cancer

I had a nephrectomy in January with a confirmed cancer diagnosis on Friday. The last 7 weeks have been so stressful waiting for the histology results, not knowing if I still had something growing in my body & what the next steps were. To finally be told that yes you’ve had cancer but hopefully it’s all been removed was a huge relief the only downside being the tumor was made up of several different forms of kidney cancer which would need further investigation & I’ve now been referred to Oncology for preventative treatment. I’ve never felt so lonely in my whole life & looking for help dealing with the future whatever the diagnosis.

  • Hi Lynnie52,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. It sounds like you've been through a difficult time recently - I hope you are getting on OK.

I understand what you mean about feeling lonely. It can sometimes be difficult speaking to, or getting support from, those closer to you.

Hopefully this forum can offer some help to you - we are always here whenever you need it. It's often helpful simply to write things down, but hopefully you'll also get some more replies here and be able to connect with others.

You can also search the forum (using the bar at the top of the page) for other discussions and people to speak to, if you'd like to.

    Wishing you all the best,
