PPC return of cancer in Serosal surface around liver

Over the ladt year my CA 125 results have increased every 3 months but with clear CT Scans. However a couple of months ago my blood markers had gone up to high hundreds andCt Scan showed I had a 12cm tumour on the left side of the Serosal surface around the liver. I start my chemo on Tuesday next week. I am again having paxi and carbo wearing a cold cap. I managed this in 2023 so fingers crossed I can do it again. Havea yof you had this? If so how did the treatment go and how are you now.

  • I'm sorry to hear about the tumour that's been found near your liver EAH and that you will be starting chemo again on Tuesday.

This must be very tough but we are here for you EAH and sending all our support your way.

Hopefully some of our members who have had paclitaxel and carboplatin and/or have experience or wearing a cold cap will share their stories and advice with you soon but if you'd like to speak to one of our cancer nurses before starting treatment, you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. With their knowledge and insight they will do all they can to answer your questions and ease any worries or concerns you have about what's to come.

I hope this helps EAH and that all goes well with your treatment.

    Kind regards,

  • I was not at all well after my first chemo of this second round. 5 days after chemo I was in a lot of pain and other side effects, and after speaking to the helpline they organised an ambulance to take me to A & E where I was put on a drip for 6 hours to rehydrate. I had a CT as well and they found another area of disease. Now in serosal around liver, pelvic area, lymph nodes in pelvis and around heart, and colon area. Second chemo they reduced the prescription by 20% but the nausea was still very bad, lasted 10 days plus other side effects. For 3rd chemo I was given stronger anti sickness tablets and they seemed to work. My 3rd chemo was deferred for a week because of low neutrophils. I should have had my 4th cycle yesterday but that has been deferred until next Tuesday, again because of low neutrophils. Will have to wait until next week now to see if these adjustments are working. Feeling fed up after having psyched myself up for yesterday’s chemo session. I see the oncologist on Friday so I will talk to him about things then.
