I start radiotherapy in just over a month’s time, Advice from anyone who has got through the 6 weeks and beyond on how they have coped with the side effects please.
Just a few days ago, I came across another member, Jenna34 who posted this thread sharing their nasopharyngeal cancer experience. This member mentioned having radiotherapy to the head and neck and there is also this thread by Claudia_L_T - this member was at the time waiting to start radiotherapy and as it was a while ago they should have by now completed their treatment.

I finished my radiotherapy on 02/08/2024 after 7 weeks -35 sessions.
The first 2 weeks of treatment everything was like normal, and after that my mouth started to get bad and I couldn't put anything inside. I had a feeding tube thro my nose for 4 months when I was eating just fortisip ((5-6 a day) and all my medication was liquid going thro the tube, In all this time I was taking paracetamol 4 times a day and some drugs like patches and morphine. Because of the drugs and treatment I was sleeping most of the time. I think the recovery period its harder then the treatment period, I am still not back to normal its a very slow process. Eat as much you can now because thro the radiotherapy you going to loose about 10% of your body weight. I lost 12Kg.
I had the PET scan on December 2024 and all came back clean, then it doesn't matter any more what it was.
