Newly diagnosed with breast cancer

I am having a lumpectomy and need a radioactive tracer put in my breast which I'm worried about. Also I'm going to have a blue dye injected into me. I'm a fainter and know I'll pass-out during this procedure.  I'm very anxious. Does anyone have any advice or comfort to give please?

  • Hi  mummy Martin

Yes my husband will be with me xx

  • Hi Jo,

I am glad to hear that it's a case of so far, so good with the Letrozole. Let's hope that this continues. It usually takes a few weeks before you feel any side-effects, but not everyone gets them.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx.

  • Hi Kitty,

When are you due to have your procedure? I sincerely hope that it all goes well for you.

    Regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jolamine

I have my surgery on 15th January. I have the injection in my arm pit same day, the morning before. I'm worried about that. X

  • Same day sounds better. I spent a number of days going back and forth to various appointments. Made work plans difficult. You will be ok-you are strong

  • Hi, I'm very nervous about the dye injection. Infact I'm dreading it. X

  • Have you had any biopsies up to now

  • Hi Kitty,

I'm having my lumpectomy on the 15th as well & the blue dye earlier that morning the same as you. I'm having a magseed marker put in on Thursday 2nd. Are you having that? The procedure will be just like the biopsy so painless really

    What grade is your lump?

Good to find someone else on the same journey.

    Best wishes,

    Lisa x

  • I had both seed and dye before my surgery on 3rd December. The staff are so good and they will understand  your anxiety

  • Hi MummyMartin,

Do you mind me asking why you may be having chemo as well? Sorry, I'm really sad & I've made notes on everyone that's been diagnosed around the same time as me lol. Helps to remember who's who etc.
