Positive test on uvula

I am asking if anyone out there has experienced a cancer at the back of throat, on the uvula.

Positive test on uvula biopsy but haven't seen specialist yet. No PET scan booked.

  • Hello Born-Suze,

I am sorry to hear you had a positive test on the uvula biopsy and I hope that you will see the specialist soon and that you find out soon when your PET scan might be. Hopefully other members of our community who have also been through something similar and experienced a positive test on the uvula biopsy, or who have experience of cancer at the back of the throat will be along shortly to share their story with you.

We have quite an active community of users who have been diagnosed with throat cancer, for example  who knows quite a few things about throat cancers having been through it herself.

I hope that they will be along shortly to tell you more about what to expect following this positive biopsy and share their experience with you. We also have a team of nurses you can contact on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm so don't hesitate to give them a call at any time if you would like to talk to someone about this.

Best of luck for your appointment and PET scan - I hope you will be able to see someone very soon and have that scan quickly.

  • Hi, I had a lump in my neck which did not go away. I had lots of tests (including the PET scan), then I had my tonsils out. Then 2 weeks ago I got the diagnosis I did not want, tonsil cancer. I have a treatment plan which starts in 2 weeks. Hoping for the best with your own diagnosis.

  • Hi treatments hard recovery can be a marathon not a sprint. But here I am 6 years later living a great life I was 61 when diagnosed. My blog might help
