Diagnosed with prostate cancer on 23rd Oct - had my second hormone injection today

Had my second hormone injection today,11.25mg,three monthly jab, feel quite light headed,is this normal does anyone know, have an appointment 9th Dec to find out results of c.t scan and discuss radio therapy, diagnosed with prostate cancer on Oct 23rd,that date is engrained in my memory for all time,it's the uncertainty that really gets to me,not knowing where you'll be a few months down the line is a horrible feeling to have in your head!

  • Hi Wolves58, I've been on prostap3 30 months and headaches aren't uncommon, but I don't know anyone who had a light head, as with any side effect, if you have any concerns, contact your team, your cancer nurse specialist CNS is there to support you It's a tough hand we are dealt and the early days are the hardest, meetings and tests, waiting for results and treatment to start, is awful, but it will get easier, I also had radiotherapy RT, 20 months ago, though as there are are a few versions, I had hypofractionated EBRT 20 doses which is the most common, some have 37 cycles, but this is being phased out and has no benefit over 20 cycles. then there is brachytherapy for contained prostate cancer, and SBRT which is only 6 cycles but a higher dose and less side effects, best wishes for the 9th.

  • Hi there thanks for getting back, light headedness pretty much cleared now, well I'll find out more about what type of rt I'll have when I go on the 9th,yes it was such a shock when told,it's always some one else isn't it but when it's yourself,well..... Good luck on your continuing journey with it too.
