Small cell cancer of the anus

Hi, my names Caroline, im 47 and last Friday I was diagnosed with small cell cancer of the anus, a rare and aggressive form.

I saw an oncologist on Tuesday and start my treatment tomorrow.

I'm feeling like I've been hit by a bus and I'll wake up soon from this really weird dream.

    Welcome to the Cancer Chat community although I'm really sorry to hear about the diagnosis that has led you to find us. I hope that your first treatment session went smoothly yesterday and that you're not struggling too much with side effects at the moment. 

    I wanted to try and connect you with two other members who have recently posted about the same diagnosis.  shared her story last week in this thread and  posted about her experiences in this thread a few days ago. Hopefully, as I've tagged them in my reply to you they will pop along to say hello and offer any advice and support they can. 

    If you think it may help to talk with one of our nurses at any point you're most welcome to give them a call. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.
