Paget's disease

Hello everyone, I've recently been diagnosed with Paget's disease of the breast! Following the removal of my milk ducts and had a punch biopsy 4 weeks ago, this confirmed I had Paget's but my consultant had a second pathologist look at the biopsy which they confirmed it is pagets ..this was I shock not only to me but my consultant was equally surprised as my symptoms were hard to recognized! I did have Painful, itchy and discharge from the right breast.  I now await a MRI end of June .. can't be sooner as I have to recover from the first operation before they can get a true reading.. then a DCIS is planned for mid July unless more is discovered. I know it's early days but I can't stop thinking about it, it's all a waiting game which is difficult to handle. I lost my Mum to breast cancer 2years go.

Is there anybody going through Paget's?

Keep strong. X

  • Hello EddieF

I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis of Paget's disease. It's understandable that you may be feeling anxious and have questions and concerns about what this means for your health. Hopefully, as you recover from your biopsy and have further tests, the team will be able to offer you some reassurance.

I wanted to try and link you up with another member  who recently posted to say that they had been diagnosed with Paget's disease. You can read their post here. Hopefully, the two of you can link up and share your experiences and support with each other.

We know that for many people this period of waiting and uncertainty can be difficult. it can sometimes help to talk with someone about your questions and concerns. If you'd like to talk with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information, and support they can.

I hope that things progress smoothly for you Eddie. Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
