Hard to cope

Anyone else drinking too much? I'm just thinking enjoy myself while I can. Nobody mentions how to cope. I'm sure that white wine isn't the best way to cope but I'm enjoying it. I just want to be hav  ing fun ntil I can't. Don't copy me, but if I'm not alone, let's chat I hope I'll be ok post treatment, but how do we know?

  • For me I have been drinking to cope and sleep, I was ok through diagnosis to surgery as all happened quick. But by the time I get full diagnosie, treatment will be 7 weeks since surgery. I was supposed to be moving and this all kicked off a week after sold, so also trying to keep going but no enrhusiasm.

At my age I should know better, but I do understand, I think we need to realise though its a short fix of feeling better/relaxed it can only make things worse.. there are alot of treatments where alcohol is a definate no so may be sensible to stop/ cut down now.

Probably hasnt helped but ypu are not alone

  • Whatever gets you through the day Beepa. Ive had all the tests and waiting to hear the worst. I’m having a glass in my garden enjoying the sun while I can.

Im angry that the NHS stopped sending out bowel screening kits to over 74 yr olds (I’m a very fit 78), but I’m keeping my heart open to the life I have left to live.

    All the best to you

Thank you. I should know better too, but hey ho. It's a horrible journey we're on. I wish you all the best xx

  • Thank you. Yes we need to enjoy life! I hope everything goes well for you.
