ANXIETY!

I’ve just recently been initially diagnosed with DCIS but this will possibly be upgraded to invasive, they are doing further testing on the biopsy. And my anxiety is through the roof, I have so many physical symptoms - heart palpitations, tight chest, pains all over, difficulty breathing, can’t eat and not sleeping well. All these symptoms are making me think that cancer has spread everywhere. What can I do? I have 2 young kids and can’t function. Does anyone have any coping strategies?

  • Hope you are feeling "ok" today. I had an awful weekend too with anxiety. Haven't eaten so that's not helping at all. Ringing my nurse this morning to have a chat. But I did download a meditation app yesterday and I must say I found it really helpful to take myself away for 10 minutes to listen and try calm myself.  I'm obviously still majorly anxious but it at least feels like I am doing something rather than continuing to spiral. Lots of love to you

  • Hi, sorry to hear u also had a bad weekend but hope u feel a bit more ‘ok’ today xx

  • I do feel a bit less grief stricken today. I rang my nurse this morning and just had a bit of an emotional meltdown. She was really great and gave me a few suggestions to help get through the day but did say this wait is the worst bit.

Are your children doing any days at nursery yet or can someone take them for a few hours? I found my boys being at school today good for having a good cry and then trying to go for a walk to clear my head xx
