My mum has recently been told a tumour has been found in her oesophagus, straight after her 3rd endoscopy (2 failed due to food still in stomach)
Biopsies taken and a PET scan, had a call today to say an appointment been made for her tomorrow and to bring a list of all medication she takes.
This was so unexpected as her GP dismissed ALL symptoms since March 2023 as withdrawal from a strong painkillers she was taking for a bad back. He refused to send her for an urgent referral, until she changed GP and she mentioned she'd lost weight that's when the ball started rolling. We all thought just an ulcer or hernia.
I am devastated and want to know if they will tell her there's nothing they can do (if that's the case) as I don't think she would cope, neither my dad....
Any advice please xxxx
